Freestone Park freestonepark
Freestone Park began with 65 acres that opened to the public in 1988. The original features included the softball fields, a concession stand and an ampitheater. Over the years, it has been renovated several times, and now includes courts for volleyball, basketball and tennis, a skate park and the Freestone Recreation Center. The kids will also love the Freestone Railroad, where they can tour the park aboard the miniature train. Flipside
flipsideOpen since 2013, Flipside is an entertainment venue for all ages. What was once a Basha’s grocery store at Val Vista Drive and Queen Creek Road has been transformed into a great bowling alley with lots of extras. Kids can also play laser tag, drive bumper cars, play pool and video games in their arcade. The bowling alley also boasts large projector screens on all of their 28 lanes, a six-lane private suite called the “Sky Club”, lane servers, a full menu and billiards. Downtown Concert Series
For a great night in the Heritage District, head out to Water Tower Plaza for Gilbert’s Downtown Concert Series. All summer long, local bands and musical acts perform a variety of genres.
