Even though we’ve reached the point in the Arizona summer where your car can double as an easy-bake oven, you and your children don’t have to be stuck inside the house all day. Gilbert has plenty of fun attractions to keep both you and the kids entertained throughout the summer. Here’s a look at some of our favorites:
Flipside
What do you get when you combine a bowling alley, a laser tag arena, a video arcade and a cool restaurant? You get the awesomeness that is Flipside. Located on the Southwest corner of Val Vista and Queen Creek here in Gilbert, Flipside is the bowling alley of the future, complete with 28 lanes with plush seating and huge projector screens.
Gilbert Historical Museum
Looking for something more educational for your little ones? Check out Gilbert Historical Museum in Gilbert’s Heritage District. Since opening its doors in 1982, Gilbert Historical Museum has collected a repository of artifacts and exhibits that chronicle Gilbert’s history. The museum is open Tuesdays through Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Big League Dreams
Do you have a little one dreaming of playing in the big leagues? Big League Dreams is sure to get his imagination going. Big League Dreams in Gilbert has replica fields of some of the most famous baseball stadiums in baseball, including Fenway Park with it’s famous “Green Monster,” the ivy-covered Wrigley Field and Yankee Stadium. Big League Dreams also offers special event packages, such as birthday parties, company outings and even weddings.
Riprarian Preserve
The Riprarian Preserve is part of the property called Water Ranch, which runs from Greenfield Road east to Higley Road. This is a great place to get out and see nature. Features include a fishing lake and dozens of adjacent nature trails. The furry members of your family are also welcome on this trip.
Have fun and be safe this summer while exploring our great town! Be sure to wear sunscreen and drink plenty of water!
