This year, there are several fun events to celebrate Independence Day all around the state of Arizona for both adults and children. There are several fireworks shows and events in the sun all around the Valley, and if you’re here in Gilbert, here’s where you can join in the festivities.
This year, the Gilbert fireworks celebration, called “Fire in the Sky” will be held at Central Christian Church, which is located at 965 E. Germann Road, on the southeast corner of Lindsay and Germann Road. The gates open on the campus at 5:30 pm and the fireworks are set to launch at 8:30. There will also be live music and classic Fourth of July food and beverages from several vendors. Central will be giving away free beach balls and other giveaways as well as hosting a watermelon eating contest for either your big kid or your little kid.

Admission is free to the Central Christian Church lot, but they are taking nonperishable food items for donation to the United Food Bank. In the past three months, United Food Bank has distributed 6 million pounds of food, which is a record high, but that also means they’re pretty tapped out. The need for assistance in our community is continually growing, and United Food Bank is asking for donations to provide more and more food to meet rising demands.
Central Christian expects around 16,000 people to attend the event, so come early to reserve your spot. If you don’t get there in time, you can still watch the fireworks show from the Campo Verde High School parking lot or the Gilbert Soccer Complex. Keep in mind that you’re not allowed to bring alcoholic beverages or your own fireworks to any location, but there will be collection areas for the food drive on all three locations.
Have a great time celebrating our independence this year!
