A true family restaurant, Joe’s Farm Grill is housed inside the original home of Joe Johnston’s family that was built back in 1967 by his parents, Jim and Virginia Johnston. A shining example of the farm-to-table movement, the restaurant sources directly from the surrounding farms in Gilbert, a 12-acre area called Agritopia. Within Agritopia are approximately 12 acres of permanent urban farming that first began in this location in 1927 when barren desert was cleared. The availability of irrigation water made farming in the desert possible.

Not terribly long ago, Guy Fieri and the rest of the Diners, Drive-ins and Dives crew headed out to Gilbert to pay a visit to Joe’s Farm Grill. You can even catch the entire segment by heading to their website.

One of the Most Famous Gilbert Restaurants

burger at joes farm grill from food networkKnown for sourcing the best quality ingredients available with an emphasis on local sources, the majority of the fruit, vegetables, and herbs come from The Farm at Agritopia, right at their front door. Not only are the ingredients as local as possible, but are as healthy as possible, such as the natural beef used for the delicious burgers and the transfat free oils for frying, dressings, and marinades. Joe’s Farm Grill also insists on performing as much of the preparation in their own kitchen, including hand breading the onion rings and making their own specialty sauces for a difference that you can taste.
Joe’s focuses on common food done uncommonly well, including burgers, fries, pizzas and ribs. There truly is something fresh and delicious for even the pickiest of eaters. Find them at 3000 E Ray Road in Gilbert. Joe’s Farm Grill is open daily from 8 am to 9 pm. To check out their menu, go to joesfarmgrill.com.
