If you’re new to the Gilbert area, you may still be discovering some of the great activities and public locales for outdoor events. Gilbert has several great parks for kids, adults and even the furry members of your family to get out and enjoy the weather. Here’s a closer look at Cosmo Dog Park, one of the favorites among pets and pet owners alike.
police dog in gilbertLocated at the Northeast corner of Ray Road and the Santan Loop 202, the park is named for Gilbert’s very first police dog, Cosmo van Blitsaerd of Holland. The grounds contain three sections, one for the smaller or more timid dogs, an area with agility equipment, and an area with a lake where dogs can jump in and go for a swim. Afterwards, you can use the water hoses at one of two wash stations to give your furry friend a rinse after his swim.
Over the years, several citizens have requested a personalized brick program to be installed on the grounds. The Town of Gilbert has responded by creating the Memorial Gift Program. If you’re interested in more details go their website.
Not only is Cosmo Dog Park one of the most popular attractions for dogs and their owners, it’s a special place that celebrates the bond between dogs and humans and the free spirit of our canine friends. If you have a furry friend at home who would love to run around and be social, Cosmo Dog Park is one of the best in the Valley.
The park is open daily from 5:30 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. and they’re not affected by holidays. There’s also lighting for nightly walks. For more information about the park, including rules, go to Cosmo Dog Park’s website.
